Space Bumping & Relocation Policy
Purpose
To ensure fair and organized management of space bookings for the Campus at Stampede Park, this policy outlines the conditions under which a reserved space may be "bumped"—reassigned to a different group or event—and establishes the notice periods and procedures required for such changes.
What is a Space Bump?
A space bump occurs when an organization higher on the priority list takes over a reserved space from a lower-priority group. This reallocation must be justified with a "good and fair" reason, and every effort should be made to minimize the impact on the group being bumped.

Criteria for a Good and Fair Bump
- Good Reason: A bump is considered valid if it is based on merit, such as an upcoming performance, a schedule change due to unforeseen circumstances, or a significant organizational need.
- Fair Process:
- Notice: Adequate notice must be given to the group being bumped.
- Alternatives: The Campus Office should attempt to offer alternative solutions to mitigate the impact of the bump, such as providing an equivalent venue.
- Logistics: The Campus Office will handle the logistics of the venue swap to ensure a smooth transition.

⛔ Note: Poor planning or lack of foresight does not constitute a valid reason for bumping another group.

Priority List for Space Allocation
- Calgary Stampede Foundation Programs (Top Priority)
- Calgary Stampede Internal Bookings
- Campus Residents
- Third-Party Bookings
Bumping Guidelines
- 90+ Days Out: Spaces can be booked, but reservations are not locked. Organizations may request a space but can still be bumped by higher-priority groups.
- 60 Days Out - Externally Locked In: CSF cannot bump an internal or resident program for an external third-party rental.
- For example, if the Outriders have booked Langille, they have the right to retain the space over an external event.
- 30 Days Out - Locked In: Once within 30 days of the event, the booking is locked in, and no organization, regardless of priority, can bump the reserved space.
