The purpose of the Doherty Hall Venue Guidelines is to outline the rules and expectations for using the space. These guidelines ensure that all users follow best practices for maintaining the venue’s equipment, safety, and overall organization.
These guidelines apply to all users of Doherty Hall, including internal programs, external rentals, and guests. Compliance is essential to maintain the venue in good condition and ensure it functions effectively for future events.
1.1 The entry door to Doherty Hall must not be propped open.
1.2 If the doors need to be unlocked for an event, this must be scheduled in advance with the event manager.
2.1 Rolling tables are not permitted to go outside in order to protect the wheels from damage.
2.2 Any equipment being moved up or down the stairs must be transported using the back staircase to ensure safety and avoid congestion in public areas.
2.3 All move-in items must come through the back door. If load-in through the front door is required, it must be scheduled with the event manager. Trucks are not permitted on the plaza without prior approval.
3.1 The projector screen must be raised at the end of every event.
3.2 Campus staff will handle the setup of technology and stage deck equipment that is owned by the Calgary Stampede Foundation (CSF).
3.2.1 Campus staff will not set up or manage any technology that is not owned by CSF.
3.3 CSF does not provide a technician to operate the equipment. It is highly recommended that operators have Dante Level 2 certification to manage the audio systems effectively.
3.4 The piano must be covered at the end of all events to protect it from damage.
3.5 The piano should never be used as a table for placing objects or items.
